Report of Clinical Meetings Held During the Year 2009-10

Under the able guidance of Dr R K Shrivastava, President of Indore Divisional Ophthalmological Society and Dr Satish Premchandani, Honorary Secretary of our society, our monthly meetings held during this year had a galaxy of speakers from all over the country and also from abroad. These were mostly held in the evenings followed by dinner. I wish to specifically mention and thank our sponsors for the monthly meetings: Allergan (5 meetings), Intas (1 Meeting) and M K International Eye Bank (2 meetings). Afternoon Clinical meetings, conducted in the previous years were not done due to mixed response from the members. Future planning

We wish to continue with the evening meetings with speakers from various places. This time the topics for the meetings will have more focus on subjects that could not be touched like Squint, Oculoplasty, Neuro-ophthalmology, Uveitis, Surgical techniques, Diabetes and other systemic diseases. We will try to address issues of dealing with old diseases with new technology and newer understanding of these diseases. Local speakers will be encouraged in a new format of clinical meetings to be announced soon by our honorary secretary Dr Satish Premchandani. We wish to start a Journal of IDOS this year with a quarterly publication and hope to get much support from all.
