Awards And Achievements

Awards are a reason for efforts to excel. They also show the gratitude of the members for those who have served the society admirably and enhanced the name, fame and status of the society. The society has started 2 categories of Awards:

IDOS Life Time Achievement Award:

The life of every ophthalmologist is one of selfless service, hard work, dedication and sacrifice. This award is given every year to senior members to recognize the exemplary services given by him in the field of ophthalmology and who has gone beyond the call of duty to serve mankind. The award was started in the year 2009.

Competitive Award

1 Dr. Vimal and Dr. Janardan Mahashabde Memorial Award

1 Dr. Vimal and Dr. Janardan Mahashabde Memorial Award:
a) This award will be given to the best presentation by post graduate student in the 'Ophthalmology Tomorrow' conference of IDOS every year.
b) Submission will be called by scientific comm. Chairman at least 60 days prior to the conference.
c) The submission should be a single author submission.
d) The full text has to be submitted 30 days prior to the date of conference.
e) The P.G. must submit the certificate of being P.G. from the H.O.D.
f) The presenter has to get registered for the conference.
g) The award will carry a cash prize of 5000/- along with a certificate, momento and a free registration for the next 'Ophthalmology Tomorrow' conference.

2 Dr. Ramesh Krishna Agrawal Memorial Award
a) This award will be given to the best presentation from the delegate from M.P. in the 'Ophthalmology Tomorrow' conference of IDOS every year. (N.B. in future if a free paper session on Glaucoma is planned this award will be given for that session.)
b) Submission will be cancelled by scientific comm. Chairman at least 60 days prior to the conference.
c) The submission should be a single author submission.
d) The presenter has to get registered for the conference.
e) The full text has to be submitted 30 days prior to the date of conference.
f) The award will carry a cash prize of 5000/- along with a certificate , momento and a free registration for the next 'Ophthalmology Tomorrow' conference.

3 Dr. M.N. bande Memorial Award
a) This award will be given to the best presentation from the delegate from outside M.P. in the 'Ophthalmology Tomorrow' conference of IDOS every year.
b) Submission will be cancelled by scientific comm. Chairman at least 60 days prior to the conference.
c) The submission should be a single author submission.
d) The presenter has to get registered for the conference.
e) The full text has to be submitted 30 days prior to the date of conference.
f) The award will carry a cash prize of 5000/- along with a certificate , momento and a free registration for the next 'Ophthalmology Tomorrow' conference.

General Rules and Guidelines for the Awards:
1) No individual can be awarded the same award twice.
2) All awards is to an individual.
3) The awards will be for lifetime and after that fresh sponsorship will be invited. However the last sponsor will be given the first option to sponsor the award again.
4) About awards to be instituted on the names of individuals - The society shall carefully evaluate the personal standing of the standing individual in the society before accepting donation for award on the name of the individual. The rules for the award shall be framed only by the IDOS. The contributer may express their thinking in general terms while proposing the award but the rules will be framed by the IDOS only.
5) The sponsorship money can be revised by the IDOS for the new awards/re-instituted awards.
6) The sc. committee will nominate a panel of three judges for each award and will give them the guidelines for scoring the paper/presentation.
7) The decision of scientific committee will be final.
8) In case the name of a judge or his/her relation is likely to figure for any award the concerned member shall quit his position from the committee for that year.
